Parts Manager-Inventory Control

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and analytical Parts Manager – Inventory Control to lead stock planning, inventory performance, and supplier coordination across our Parts operations.
Reporting to the General Manager and leading a team of 10, this role plays a critical part in ensuring optimal stock availability across all warehouses and branches, while driving operational efficiency, minimizing backorders, and improving supplier performance. You will work closely with Sales, Aftersales, and Parts teams, acting as the central point for inventory strategy, forecasting, and continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Job Purpose
Responsible for the stock inventory performance and management of parts and accessories to ensure availability across all warehouses and locations in line with agreed KPIs. The role focuses on maximizing operational performance while delivering high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction and executing Parts Department standard processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier discussions and align sourcing strategies with business objectives
- Strengthen sourcing capabilities by identifying and onboarding alternative suppliers
- Drive inventory analysis and act as the central point of coordination with Sales and Aftersales
- Enhance reporting and KPI visibility across inventory and operational performance
- Plan stock orders for new models, multi-brand parts, campaigns, and seasonal demand
- Monitor and improve supplier lead times, order fill rates, and backorder management
- Ensure accurate ETA updates and reduce turnaround times to improve customer satisfaction
- Optimize inventory turnover (target: 3x per year / MOS 4.0)
- Maintain and manage inventory system parameters (Syncron / Autoline)
- Reduce deadstock through data-driven actions and commercial initiatives
- Minimize VOR line items by improving stock availability across branch workshops
- Review stock requirements and ensure timely order fulfillment
- Drive process improvement, eliminating inefficiencies and enhancing productivity
- Develop and upskill the inventory team, encouraging multi-functional capability
- Define and monitor KPIs to track performance and address gaps
- Ensure compliance with QHSE and OSH standards, promoting a safe working environment
Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certification in inventory or supply chain management (preferred)
Work Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in inventory management or a similar role
- Strong expertise in data analysis, forecasting, and stock planning
- Proven experience with inventory management systems (preferably Syncron)
- Background in automotive or parts operations is highly desirable
